9th International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries (RRB9), Antwerp, Belgium, 6-7 June 2013

Delegates from university, industry, governmental and non-governmental organizations and venture capital providers will present their views on industrial biotechnology, sustainable (green) chemistry and agricultural policy related to the use of renewable raw materials for non-food applications and energy supply.

The conference further aims at providing an overview of the scientific, technical, economic, environmental and social issues of renewable resources and biorefineries in order to give an impetus to the biobased economy and to present new developments in this area. The conference will provide a forum for leading political, corporate, academic and financial people to discuss recent developments and set up collaborations.

The three day international conference will consist of plenary lectures and oral presentations by international experts, a poster session and an exhibition. Companies and research organizations are offered the opportunity to organize a satellite symposium.

We expect to welcome about 400 international participants from over 30 countries.

European Bioenergy Conference AEBIOM, Brussels, Belgium, 17-19 June 2013

The AEBIOM Bioenergy Conference organized by the European Biomass Association is the forth edition of the growing series. The annual conference has grown ever since its first edition in 2010 and has quickly become Europe´s major occasion for discussion and networking amongst important industry leaders and policy makers. Bioenergy is the largest renewable energy source in Europe and we expect around 300 industry representatives to be present at this event which is one of the leading bioenergy conferences in Europe.

The 4th edition will be co-organized with the European Pellet Council, the Industrial European Pellet Suppliers and the European Biogas Association and  it is organized in association with the Irish presidency of the Council of the EU.

Central European Biomass Conference, Graz, Austria, 15-18 January 2014

From 2010 to 2020, the total final energy consumption of biomass in the EU is expected to increase by 63 % to 2,200 PJ. That makes the absolute growth of bioenergy higher than for all other renewable energy sources together. The 4th Central European Biomass Conference will provide a comprehensive overview of political, economic and technological developments in the field of energetic biomass use in Europe. The focus of attention will be on the following spheres:

  •     Bioenergy in the context of 100 % renewable energies
  •     Material versus energetic use
  •     Energy policy in Europe

Other focal points will be the topics of: biogas, energy crops, heat from biomass, electricity from solid biomass, biofuels and biorefineries, fuel logistics and preparation, new markets, economic effects of sustainable bioenergy deployment, bioenergy in urban areas, wood ash and torrefaction. New resources from agricultural land and waste are becoming increasingly important for the supply of biomass. These will be looked at especially on the excursions, during which the harvesting, processing and upgrading in particular of new raw materials will be demonstrated in actual practice.

Biorefinery for Food, Fuel and Materials symposium (BFF-2013), Wageningen, the Netherlands, 7-10 April 2013

In the symposium on Biorefinery for Food, Fuel and Materials 2013 (BFF2013) the whole biorefinery value chain is considered, from where biomass cultivation is linked with biomass processing steps to the individual applications and recycling of resources to reduce the overall footprint. The symposium also unites stakeholders from agro, food, chemical, fuel and energy sectors with a common interest within the biorefinery chains.
