Content Country Reports

One of the major Activities of Task 42 is the annual preparation of country specific reports on Biorefinery Mapping and Biorefinery-related RTD programmes – so called “Country Reports” – to help national governments to define their national biorefinery policy goals and related funding programmes.

Within each national Country Report, the following information is available:

  • Biomass based energy production and consumption
  • Biomass use for non-energetic purposes
  • Biomass, bioenergy & biorefinery related policy issues
  • Biorefinery related funding programmes
  • Running commercial biorefinery facilities
  • Demo and pilot plants
  • Major RTD activities
  • Major stakeholders
  • Other issues

Within the first triennium (2007 - 2009) one Task covering Countries Report was prepared covering the status of biorefining initiatives in both Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, and the Netherlands. At that time, these were the countries, excl. the EC,  participating in the Task.

By the end of 2010, 12 separate national Country Reports, and one overall integrated IEA Bioenergy Task 42 Countries Report, will be published.
These reports will be upgraded in both 2011 and 2012.
